Creative Carousel Saturday 28 May, 12-5pm Workshops and activities led by exhibiting artists including a ‘dead’ drawing class using taxidermy rather than the life model and other artist-led making activities through which to explore the exhibition. Visitors can handle objects from the Artemis store and make their own contribution to the show through various on-site activities throughout the exhibition. Suitable for all ages. Free entry, no booking required. --------------------

Studio Reads A different kind of book group which looks at books recommended by artists, ranging from popular fiction to critical texts, providing insight and a new perspective on their interests, influences and the work they make. A selection of texts are available to read onsite at PSL and a full reading list is downloadable from the PSL website. Wednesday 15th June, 6 – 7.30pm* Come and share your views on the Hunter-Gatherer project and explore the different books and reading which have influenced the artists within the show. Wednesday 14th July, 6- 7.30pm A follow-up session to discuss one or two of the books in more depth, having had chance to go away and read those selected ‘Studio Reads’ is a very informal group, with refreshments and cheese and biscuits served as part of the evening. Behind-The-Scenes Tour of the Artemis Store Wednesday 15 June, 4.30-5.30pm Normally closed to the general public, this is a great opportunity to see what inspired the artists in Hunter-Gatherer. Includes an introduction by Jane Zanzottera, Head of Artemis and the Schoolroom. Join us afterwards, for Studio Reads and a discussion of the exhibition. Free entry. Launch party for Intelligent Clashing: Something Tremendous Has Happened Featuring a round table pot luck supper DJ set by Emily Wilczek + bar Thursday 14 July 6 — 8pm PSL Bring your own food dish / baked goods to swap for a free copy of Something Tremendous Has Happened and add to the pot luck supper… The publication which has been commissioned by PSL as part of Hunter Gatherer, is a visual essay by Rhiannon Silver, bringing together images of objects housed in the Artemis Collection and photographs by artist Mary Manning.
