Sonic Postcards is an educational project linking young people and
children to the refurbishment of Neville Street as a major gateway site
for Leeds.
The project focuses on the impact of sound on our
lives, and the possibilities for creative design using sound and
technology. As with an ordinary postcard, it offers the opportunity for
people to exchange information about their local environment and
provide 'snapshots' of those places.
At PSL, an installation
presents the results of work with Cockburn College of Arts, Ingram Road
Primary School and New Bewerley Community School co-curated with
freelance composer, sound artist, educator and performer Duncan Chapman.
