The Drawing Shed is an ongoing participatory project which evolves as artists make new works on, or in a shed, painted with blackboard paint. Starting as a pristine blank space the shed will be temporarily transformed by invited artists over the course of the 10 week project.

Week 1: 14th-18th July - Phill Harding
An immersive, constantly changing sound installation constructed using chance procedures and the sound of a house devoid of human presence.

Week 2: 21st-24th July - Pippa Hale
Hale will transform The Drawing Shed into the old garden shed at her parents’ home.

Week 3: 28th-31st July - Helen Entwisle
Entwisle a.k.a Memo will transform the shed into a colourful world of hand drawn characters.

Week 4: 4th-7th August - Lesley Halliwell
Halliwell will create a drawing reminiscent of 1970s wallpaper, wrapping around the outside of the shed beneath and imaginary picture rail.

Emily Speed will create a cyclic drawing on the exterior of the shed over 4 days.

Week 6: 18th-21st August - Juliet MacDonald
Juliet MacDonald will draw full perspective drawings of imaginary gardens on the outside of the shed.

The Drawing Shed was launched at 'No Soul For Sale' as part of Tate Modern's 10th birthday celebrations, and featured the work of artists Nick Cass, Amelia Crouch, Ant Macari, Hardeep Pandhal, Janis Rafailidou and Amy Stephens and Rory Macbeth.
