FULL HOUSE
3 weeks / 3 day residencies / 3 artists / 3 institutions
9th - 26th March
To coincide with Dutton and Swindells ‘The Stag and Hound’ at Project Space Leeds.
Patterns.
Collaboration. Connections. Disruption. Drift. Reticence. Waywardness
and Doubt…are words used by Steve Swindells and Steve Dutton to describe
their work and process of working for the Stag & Hound exhibition
currently showing at Project Space Leeds.
Inspired by these
words, PSL and SLICE Leeds have brought together students and recent
graduates from Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds College of Art and
University of Leeds to participate in a 3 week program of three-day
residencies in PSL’s auxiliary project space ‘ The viewing room’.
Randomly selected through rounds of bingo the student and new graduate
artists involved will be mentored by a Leeds-based tutor or curator. We
hope the project will help encourage creative experimentation,
collaboration and cross- institutional relationships.

Responding
to the scheduled community clean-up of the riverside this Saturday week
3 FULLHOUSE residents have participated in the 'cleaning' process by
taking two brown trout from the river seasoned them with salt, pepper
and olive oil, cooked them and eaten them.
Thinking it absurd to
call the process of clearing the riverside 'cleaning' when the rubbish
collected will ultimately be replaced with new rubbish they plan to
replenish the 'rubbish' they have removed by replacing the two trout
with replicas of a similar size, alien to the river Aire in order to
contribute to the riverside's ever-changing form. To help you empathize
with our alien species, the residents have subverted the space above the
ceiling of their temporary 'studio' in the viewing room as if you
yourselves are submerged.
