Roger Palmer: Latitude/Jeremy Wafer: Tropic
Photography Projects from the Tropic of Capricorn
8th October - 18th December 2010
An exhibition of works which map or trace geographical locations along the Tropic of Capricorn, questioning what the photographic image can tell us about variations in topography and different indigenous and colonial histories.
Roger Palmer (Glasgow) and Jeremy Wafer (Johannesburg) have been friends for almost twenty years but this is the first time their work has ben exhibited together. This project emerged from a meeting earlier this year in Johannesburg, when they first became aware of a shared interest in the Tropic of Capricorn.
The exhibition also includes two video works by Palmer made on the Leeds-Liverpool canal in the Armley district of Leeds. The videos explore geographical and historical links with Botany Bay, Australia.
The exhibition is open Wed-Sat 12-5pm.
